Your lack of journalistic professionalism, integrity, while supposedly searching for and reporting truth, astonishes us. You attacked without first knowing and researching the truth. You not only attacked a well known and highly respected Professional, but included in your attack the Crim family and the District Court Judge, Chief Justice James A. Hall. We found the judge to be extremely fair and tolerant of Mr. Sprague while in the two days of hearings we were present at. Judge Hall gave Mr. Sprague every opportunity to present his case, and then some.
The first day hearing was an all day event, and the second was a continuation due to not getting finished the first day and lasted about 5+-hours. We did not see you at the all day hearing, only at the last. As a supposed journalist doing a story on Crim vs Sprague why did you not attend the all day hearing. You did show part of the time at the 5-hour continuance, but slept through most of that one. Unlike you Mr. Lehrman, we paid close attention while in the court room to the testimony and evidence presented! We DID attend both hearing days.
If you had been at the first hearing you would have HEARD Mr. Sprague's expert surveyor witness state that he used the old Denton survey. When asked if the Denton survey map he used was incorrect, would his survey also be incorrect, he said yes.
Mr. Lehrman, we ask you, how do you expect to get to the truth and defuse a bad situation if you do not meet with both parties in a dispute? You not only requested we set up the interview date and time, which we did, you did not follow through in a professional way, and you want to be a State Senator of New Mexico.? How can you expect to earn the vote of the people of New Mexico when you have shown that you do not understand the meaning of "UNBIASED" reporting?
"We the People" are not in the market for more of the same. We've had enough of that thank you!
Mr. Lehrman, we would like to thank you for making it possible through your article for us to come to know Mr. and Mrs. Crim over the past several years. The Crim's are not rich folks, but both have worked hard throughout their lives, they are good people, honest and up-front. They fostered four children, and then adopted them. Those children were also victims of your article. It is hard to believe there are those out there that would purposely set out to destroy a decent family, without knowing the complete truth first, it's called "responsible reporting. Ever heard of it?
The Crim's and their children, nor Ms. Mason, deserved any of Mr. Sprague's and your misrepresentations of facts. What is wrong with the logic in your head?
Let us make it simple for you both;
Fact: According to the correct survey map (confirmed), Mr. Sprague's fence was 10-feet west onto Mr. Crim's roadway/easement and to correct the trespass Mr. Sprague's west (front) fence must be moved 10-feet to the east (off the roadway). And, the east (back) fence must also be moved east
which still maintains Mr. Sprague's titled-length of 290.40' and 290.21' respectively.
Mr. Sprague was never in the position of losing any of his titled acreage, his square footage remains the same. Mr. Sprague caused a lot of people to waste time dealing with Tony, not to mention the grief and money.
The truth is, Mr. Sprague is and was wrong! You, Leland Lehrman were and are wrong! Tony did not own the ten feet wide strip of land in the roadway, it was and is owned by the Crim's. Mr. Sprague DID trespass.
Mr. Lehrman! You added fuel to the fire with your character assassination attacks. As the Author/Editor of the articles published in your Mother Media (online media) and the Sun News (print media), YOU should want all the TRUTH BEFORE YOU PUBLISHED! You were wrong when you did not research both sides thoroughly, or understand what you were dealing with in a mental case, but you instead chose to
defame.
